Unforgettable Valley

This is truly an unforgettable valley nestled deep inside the borders of Kluane National Park. The day was unforgettable - three accomplished artists hunting like gold miners for the next great images to paint. The colours were fantastic, especially the yellow poplars so dominant in the Kluane range. The weather was shifting and rain was on its way. The misty clouds that were forming and drawing up over the horizon are captured here in a subtle dance of moods and light qualities. It took a small on-location study, as well as several sketches and photographs to bring this piece to life.
